Project Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid work schedule in Mountain View, CA, with the position associated with Sunnyvale, California, United States.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee technical, cost, and schedule performance for assigned structures and motion control programs.
• Serve as lead engineer and primary technical contact for customers.
• Develop conceptual solutions and validate them through trade studies and engineering analyses.
• Document designs, analyses, and test results in accurate, concise reports.
• Set technical direction and coordinate production, assembly, integration, and testing teams to support delivery, quality, and schedule.
• Support proposal development and costing for business unit bids and proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing, analyzing, developing, and producing precision mechanical hardware.
• Experience with mechanism and component design, development, and verification testing.
• Ability to communicate technical and programmatic information effectively to peers, management, and customers.
• Ability to manage time and competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to access and work with technology, software, and technical data subject to U.S. export controls and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

Nice to have

• Experience with solid modeling tools such as SolidWorks or NX.
• Experience with Teamcenter or other Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Engineering experience on DoD and/or aerospace industry development projects.
