Industrial Engineer - Composite (Aerospace)

Location: Kinston, North Carolina, United States; 100% on-site. Travel is less than 10% domestically and internationally, with the physical requirements section also specifying the ability to travel independently and at short notice.

hirify.global Aerosystems Kinston manufactures large composite aerostructures and aircraft components for the hirify.global A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

What you will do

• Advise and support the Kinston site on hirify.global composite processes, regulations, AIPI/AIPS implementation, and process assurance.
• Improve and secure composite manufacturing processes to support the A350 production ramp-up.
• Propose projects and ideas to reduce composite-process lead time and cost.
• Write specifications for composite manufacturing machines and production environments with support from the hirify.global composite network.
• Act as the Kinston focal point for composite manufacturing engineering processes and exchange lessons learned with other hirify.global plants.
• Interface with the wider hirify.global composite community to align processes and enable knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Five years of experience with hirify.global composite manufacturing, processes, and regulations.
• Working experience and study of manufacturing processes used for composite materials.
• Study or working experience with composite materials.
• Working experience with manufacturing engineering processes, preferably at hirify.global, or at least within the aviation industry.
• Working experience in an international environment.
• Experience with a Google working environment.
• Fluent English with influencing capability.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including operating office and production equipment, carrying and lifting up to 30 lb/14 kg, walking through office and production areas, and using required PPE.
