Lead Fullstack Java Developer

Location: Prague-Trojanova 32, Czechia; hybrid work with in-person collaboration as needed.

What you will do

• Lead the technical design, development, integration, testing, maintenance, and production support of scalable back-end services, front-end components, and RESTful APIs for the International Processing Engine.
• Translate business requirements into secure, maintainable, resilient, and scalable solutions while owning complex development work, strategic enhancements, production fixes, and technical remediation.
• Set engineering standards for coding, code reviews, automated testing, documentation, security controls, and release readiness.
• Make architectural decisions covering scalability, resilience, performance, integration, security, and operational supportability.
• Mentor developers, review solution designs and code, investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive sustainable corrective actions.
• Support securities trade lifecycle workflows, including trade confirmations, reporting, books and records, collateral management, and Debt, Equity, and Financing Transactions; improve CI/CD, deployment automation, operational support, and AI-assisted engineering.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Strong Java and Spring expertise, including service-oriented or microservices-based back-end systems.
• Strong SQL skills and extensive experience with large relational databases, including MS SQL Server and Sybase.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Engineer responsible for technical direction, solution design, delivery quality, and developer mentoring.
• Strong full-stack development capability, including leadership of front-end components and back-end services; experience with JavaScript.
• Extensive experience designing, building, governing, and integrating RESTful APIs and enterprise application integrations.
• Experience with high-volume data processing and real-time or time-sensitive workflows; technical design and architectural decision-making focused on scalability, resilience, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience leading code reviews, establishing engineering standards, improving development practices, resolving complex technical and production issues, and embedding automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Git, Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, JIRA, and Confluence; strong communication, stakeholder-management, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Python experience.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of the securities trade lifecycle, including Middle Office, Back Office, settlements processing, trade confirmations, reporting, books and records, collateral management, and clearance/settlement workflows.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle from requirements and technical design through testing, user acceptance, release, and production support.
• Experience in SAFe Agile delivery environments.
• Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience leading technical delivery in complex, deadline-driven client environments.
