Senior Structured Quant (Energy Markets)

What you will do

• Develop and continuously improve statistical pricing and risk models in Python for power and gas supply contracts.
• Enhance pricing approaches and hedging strategies to optimise value generation and cost-to-serve.
• Analyse market dynamics and price drivers, with a particular focus on the UK power market.
• Maintain and improve IT tools and processes supporting pricing workflows.
• Calculate costs for bespoke customer requests and ensure compliance with pricing methodologies.
• Collaborate with Sales, Portfolio Management, Trading, and IT to implement and improve pricing solutions.

Requirements

• University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in statistical modelling, simulation processes, and Python programming.
• Solid knowledge of option pricing theory, time series analysis, and power market mechanisms, preferably in the UK.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a structured and independent working style.
• Collaborative mindset, ability to manage competing priorities, and interest in working in an international environment.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Relevant experience in energy markets.
• Knowledge of Dutch or German power markets and gas markets.
• Familiarity with SQL, databases, software testing, and build pipelines.
