Senior AI Applied Software Engineer (iOS)

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve the Mobile Platform and digital banking product capabilities.
• Deliver end-to-end functionality from discovery and technical design through release, adoption, and production support.
• Shape architecture, review critical changes, mentor peers, and lead complex investigations.
• Use AI agents to investigate codebases, compare implementation options, prototype, generate and maintain tests, diagnose failures, and automate repetitive work.
• Create reusable patterns and automation that improve engineering practices across mobile platforms and adjacent systems.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of professional software engineering experience building complex products and operating effectively at senior level.
• Deep production expertise in at least one native mobile ecosystem: iOS with Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, structured concurrency, Apple frameworks, Xcode, and the iOS build and release lifecycle; and/or Android with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK and Jetpack libraries, Coroutines and Flow, Gradle, and the Android build and release lifecycle.
• Experience designing scalable mobile architectures using MVI, MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, or equivalent approaches.
• Experience building modular applications, reusable libraries, frameworks, or SDKs with stable, well-designed APIs.
• Strong automated testing, debugging, profiling, CI/CD, release automation, and mobile non-functional requirements experience.
• Hands-on production experience using AI coding assistants or agents in software delivery, including evidence of improved outcomes beyond code generation.
• Understanding of agentic development risks, including incorrect output, missing context, insecure code, dependency risk, privacy, and over-automation, with appropriate verification and human review.
• Ability to work across both mobile platforms and adjacent systems; deep expertise in one platform with effective cross-platform contribution is sufficient.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into testable technical plans, anticipate cross-system impacts, communicate trade-offs clearly, own outcomes, and balance rapid delivery with long-term platform health.
• Effective English communication and ability to work in an international, multidisciplinary environment.

Nice to have

• Strong production experience in both native iOS and native Android.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, Compose Multiplatform, or another cross-platform mobile technology.
• Experience building AI-enabled product capabilities using model APIs, retrieval, evaluation datasets, guardrails, observability, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Experience with mobile security, accessibility, performance optimisation, SDK development, or enterprise application distribution.
• Experience in banking, fintech, or another regulated environment.
• Experience with cloud services, backend APIs, web applications, or data pipelines supporting mobile products.
