Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Payments

Location: Hybrid within Switzerland, Biel; 25 days of annual international remote working opportunities

What you will do

• Ensure reliable operation of the High Availability Frontoffice Platform and more than 70 microservices-based applications across infrastructure, services, and application layers.
• Manage containerized workloads on redundant RHEL nodes using Docker and Ansible, as well as a cloud-native stack using OpenShift, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and drive automation for consistency, availability, and compliance.
• Support migration of the European infrastructure to the hirify.global private cloud.
• Lead service, application, and infrastructure improvements while representing operations to business, development teams, and infrastructure providers.
• Participate in remunerated year-round on-call duties and provide third-level support for database infrastructures and supported applications.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in an SRE or DevOps role, supporting production systems and contributing to complex technical projects.
• Strong knowledge of RHEL/Linux, microservices, and containerization such as Docker, plus experience with cloud and container orchestration platforms.
• Practical experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management using Ansible and Terraform, application deployment with Helm, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI.
• Experience managing highly available production environments, including incident response, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience with observability tools and willingness to maintain and develop a logging service based on OpenSearch and Grafana/Prometheus.
• Awareness of security best practices and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently, document work clearly, and collaborate effectively with technical teams and external partners under pressure.
• Fluent English.
