Senior Software Engineer, Operations Foundations (AI)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid setup.

What you will do

• Own the runtime, build, deployment, and developer-experience foundations used by 250+ micro-frontends and hundreds of engineers.
• Evolve micro-frontend composition, isolation, and shared-dependency strategies.
• Drive technical initiatives from ambiguous ideas through technical planning, risk management, delivery, and production.
• Improve code quality, platform reliability, security, maintainability, and engineering workflows.
• Build agentic-development foundations, including agent instructions, reusable skills, tool integrations, guardrails, and automated checks for safe AI-generated changes.
• Work agent-first by delegating implementation while applying technical judgment to architecture, direction, and outcome verification.

Requirements

• Proven expertise building production frontend applications with TypeScript and React.
• Solid backend knowledge and ability to own and operate Node.js services supporting frontend infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of frontend build tools, bundlers, and module systems, with the ability to evolve them as the platform grows.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex performance, reliability, or developer-experience issues in large frontend codebases.
• Experience driving technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills, including aligning priorities, managing expectations, and communicating trade-offs with partner teams and leadership.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and platform-oriented teamwork skills.
• Strong documentation skills, including experience writing RFCs or ADRs.

Nice to have

• Experience with micro-frontend architecture.
• Frontend platform-engineering experience.
• Experience building shared component libraries used by many product teams.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure for frontend workloads.
• Experience or interest in observability and reliability engineering.
• Experience building tooling or workflows for autonomous AI coding agents, including agent instructions, skills, MCP servers, or evaluating agent-generated code.
