TL;DR
Sr Analyst, Accounting (US GAAP/ERP): Managing payroll and Opex liabilities accruals, month-end close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and audit support for LATAM and UCAN entities with an accent on accounting controls, compliance, and process improvement. Focus on analyzing variance drivers, maintaining accurate accounting conclusions, leading efficiency projects, and supporting internal and external audits.

Location: La Aurora, Heredia, Costa Rica

What you will do

  • Record, reconcile, and track payroll and Opex liabilities regional accrual activities for LATAM and UCAN entities.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entry posting, pre-reconciliations, special entries, process support, and flux analysis.
  • Analyze and explain key variance drivers with collaborators and local Country Finance Leaders, while supporting standardization and process efficiency.
  • Communicate and follow up on balancing differences, maintain monthly task lists, and ensure accurate accounting for supplemental accounts.
  • Apply internal accounting controls, complete reconciliations, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and S-Ox policies.
  • Deliver internal and external audit requirements, prepare business and corporate reports, and participate in or lead process-improvement projects and business initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • English proficiency at B2 or higher.
  • Experience with general accounting processes and implementation projects across all stages.
  • Strong ERP knowledge, including JDE, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Advanced or proficient Excel skills.
  • Understanding of end-to-end processes and accounting mapping using T accounts.

Nice to have

  • JDE experience.
  • Excel macros or Visual Basic skills.
  • Experience with reporting and simplification tools such as Cognos, Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau.
