Incident Response Lead (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully remote, based anywhere in Australia.

What you will do

• Lead containment, eradication, and recovery efforts during cybersecurity incidents.
• Act as the liaison between technical teams and leadership, providing clear updates and guidance.
• Collect and analyse forensic artefacts, reconstruct attack chains, and support investigations.
• Conduct postmortems, document lessons learned, and recommend resilience improvements.
• Prepare incident reports, guidance, and updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive audiences.
• Design and run tabletop exercises and workshops, and collaborate with regional peers in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years in incident response and proven event investigation experience.
• Advanced ability to categorise, investigate, and resolve incidents while preserving evidence.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, AWS, Azure, GCP, and other defensive technologies.
• Exceptional decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict management skills in high-stakes scenarios.
• Ability to prepare detailed reports and deliver executive-level briefings to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong time management, prioritisation, and leadership skills for guiding cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, or GCFA.
