Senior Software Engineer, Security Assurance

Location: Remote; candidates must be in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany or Sweden.

Base compensation in Ireland: €104,000–€124,800 annually, plus RSUs.

What you will do

• Build and maintain security observability, compliance, control management, and internal security tooling.
• Develop automated security assurance programs covering certifications, application, build, cloud, and supply chain security.
• Implement security and compliance checks as developer-enabling guardrails and paved roads in workflows and build pipelines.
• Integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle and operational processes with cross-functional teams.
• Respond to customer security issues, security alerts, and potential incidents.

Requirements

• Production software development experience with at least one programming language; Go, TypeScript, and Python are primarily used. Candidates must complete a code screen and discuss algorithms, data structures, and optimization.
• Knowledge of using and securing containerized, cloud-native applications, ideally with Kubernetes.
• Experience automating security and compliance processes with tools, scripts, and frameworks while enabling developer and employee workflows.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communication with peers, stakeholders, auditors, and customers.
• Understanding of recognized security frameworks, standards, and certifications, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, or GDPR, and how to apply them without additional operational burden.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with multiple cloud providers.
• Experience guiding and negotiating with peers, stakeholders, customers, and auditors.
• Knowledge of hirify.global open-source projects and products, including using observability tooling to solve security problems.
• Experience working with open-source communities and using technical automation to prove infrastructure compliance.
• Experience securing large-scale distributed systems running in public clouds.
