Supply Chain Manager (Biotech)

hirify.global is building an automated laboratory that enables AI agents to run biology experiments, combining software, hardware, lab automation, data pipelines, and AI systems for biotech and biopharma customers.

What you will do

• Own procurement end to end for laboratory inputs, including requests, purchase orders, receiving, vendor onboarding, and lot tracking.
• Build supplier relationships across gene synthesis, reagents, biosensors, catalog proteins, consumables, and related categories; negotiate pricing agreements and volume commitments.
• Find and qualify second sources with the science team to reduce single-supplier risk and improve supply resilience.
• Set inventory policy, reorder points, and safety stock while preventing stockouts and reagent expiry.
• Plan supply requirements for several-fold lab throughput growth, including volumes, lead times, storage, and cash tied up in inventory.
• Own landed cost, import duties, VAT recoverability, cold chain, procurement COGS with Finance, and automation of ordering, tracking, and reconciliation.

Requirements

• Experience in supply chain or procurement in a physical, technical business; biotech, CRO, or another life science company is ideal. Hardware manufacturing or another high-mix production setting is also relevant.
• Understanding of reagent categories such as enzymes, antibodies, media, resins, and plasticware, including how they are sourced.
• Ability to evaluate supplier alternatives with scientists and discuss reagent requirements with protein biochemists.
• Strong negotiation skills and confidence managing established laboratory vendors.
• Ability to think in margins and reduce the cost of proteins across high production volumes.
• Ability to automate procurement workflows by writing scripts against internal and vendor systems and APIs.
• High attention to lead times, expiry dates, lot numbers, and minimum order quantities.
• Readiness to own a supply chain function, work cross-functionally with R&D, Finance, the lab, couriers, and suppliers, and take on tasks outside a narrowly defined role.

Nice to have

• Swiss or EU import/export experience.
• Experience in biotech, CRO, or another life science company.
