Lab Operations Specialist (Biotech)

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland; on-site daily. Willingness to relocate to Switzerland is accepted.

hirify.global is building an automated laboratory that enables AI agents to run biology experiments, combining software, hardware, laboratory instruments, workflows, observability, data pipelines, and AI systems.

What you will do

• Receive, unpack, store, and track laboratory deliveries, including freezer and temperature-controlled materials.
• Manage day-to-day ordering, monitor stock levels and expiry dates, chase late orders, and resolve delivery discrepancies.
• Handle incoming and outgoing shipments of customer samples, reagents, and equipment, including cold chain, dry ice, customs paperwork, and courier coordination.
• Support scientists hands-on with protein reconstitution and aliquoting, buffer preparation, plate handling, and material tracking in laboratory software.
• Coordinate instrument servicing, calibration, repairs, maintenance schedules, and vendor or engineer visits.
• Maintain chemical inventory, waste disposal, safety compliance, office supplies, workspace setup, new-starter setups, and the expansion of the new laboratory.

Requirements

• Hands-on laboratory experience through a degree, apprenticeship, technician role, or research or biotech laboratory work.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to track orders, expiry dates, inventory, and instrument servicing without losing details.
• Ability to identify and resolve operational issues proactively before they cause stockouts, delays, or equipment failures.
• Comfort with physical laboratory work, including unpacking boxes, moving dry ice, and reorganizing freezers.
• Tech-savviness and willingness to learn and use laboratory software and AI tooling, including automating repetitive operational work.
• Willingness to work in a startup environment with changing priorities, incomplete documentation, and responsibility for creating new processes.
• Interest in hirify.global's mission of making biology faster and cheaper for AI-driven experimentation.
• French and English are useful because many suppliers and couriers operate in French.
