Location: College Station, Texas; onsite classroom and field-based instruction

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service provides emergency response training, workforce training, and technical assistance, including HAZMAT, fire and rescue, infrastructure and safety, law enforcement, cybersecurity, economic and workforce development, and homeland security programs.

What you will do

• Develop, deliver, and revise hazardous materials training courses.
• Conduct classroom and field-based instruction using adult learning theories, learning styles, and varied instructional media.
• Develop and update training aids, audiovisual materials, student materials, and lesson plans.
• Provide technical assistance and support other instructors and programs as needed.
• Maintain and inventory course equipment and interact professionally with clients and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years of experience in a HAZMAT-related field.
• One year of experience in adult education and/or training.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Valid passport, or the ability to obtain one within 180 days of employment.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or the ability to obtain one within 180 days of employment.
• Equivalency may be met with two years of related experience and an applicable associate’s degree, or an applicable bachelor’s degree with no prior related experience; at least one year of adult education and/or training experience is required in either case.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation.
