Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid role based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with a minimum of 2 days per week at the Amsterdam HQ. The role is open to candidates worldwide; selected candidates may receive visa sponsorship and relocation support to Amsterdam, subject to eligibility and applicable restrictions.

What you will do

• Build and maintain a self-service developer platform that abstracts infrastructure complexity and enables teams to deploy, monitor, and optimize applications.
• Orchestrate cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters and other cloud resources, with attention to performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through FinOps practices.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, reusable templates, and other automation that increases developer productivity.
• Apply fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and scaling practices to improve application reliability and resilience.
• Improve platform operations and observability, monitor platform health, and resolve incidents proactively.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs and promote cloud-native best practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of production experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience automating workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Hands-on experience using and maintaining observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
• Proactive ownership of platform issues and a focus on long-term scalability and resilience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and cross-functional teams to align goals and deliver simple, impactful solutions.
• Commitment to continuous learning in cloud-native tools, technologies, and practices.
• Ability to measure what matters, introduce changes gradually, use automation to reduce toil, and share knowledge.
