Lead Data Architect (Snowflake)

Location: Hybrid from Helsinki preferred; remote possible within European operating countries.

What you will do

• Own the target data architecture, including warehouse layers, modeling standards, and ingestion patterns.
• Harmonize organizations, legal entities, contracts, and commercial relationships across operational and analytical systems.
• Design practical governance for data ownership, definitions, quality, access, data contracts, and monitoring.
• Write reference implementations, critical-domain dbt models, reusable patterns, and production data code.
• Shape the semantic layer for embedded product analytics and internal reporting.
• Build and lead a 3–5-person data team, advise product and engineering teams, provide data-literacy training, and support architecture due diligence for integrations and acquisitions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture, including at least 3 years owning architecture decisions used by other teams.
• Proven team leadership and talent development experience.
• Ability to collaborate in a matrix organization and translate business reality into data structures.
• Deep, current Snowflake expertise across modeling, performance, cost management, security, and access design.
• Strong dimensional and domain modeling skills, including experience harmonizing an established data model across multiple systems.
• Production-level SQL and Python, or another language used for data work; continued weekly hands-on coding is expected.
• Experience with modern transformation and orchestration tooling, ownership models, data contracts, and practical data quality monitoring.
• Competence using AI tools in professional work, with judgment about where they are useful.
• Strong English communication skills.
