iOS Lead Engineer

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Hybrid workplace with 2 days in the office recommended, although exact office days are decided by the team.

Annual gross salary: €85,000–€115,000 EUR, excluding 8% holiday pay.

What you will do

• Act as the iOS technical decision-maker for the Design Systems domain.
• Own architecture and design decisions for the shared iOS component library and design-system tooling.
• Improve component composability, flexibility, documentation, and AI-readiness for screen generation.
• Drive module boundaries, dependency direction, API design, CI/CD, testing strategy, build-time improvements, and flaky-test reduction.
• Apply modern Swift concurrency and represent iOS in the Frontend Platform Council.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, design, Android, and web teams while mentoring engineers through reviews, RFCs, ADRs, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with SwiftUI, UIKit, and modernizing large-scale iOS applications.
• Solid knowledge of Swift concurrency, including async/await, structured concurrency, task cancellation, actors, and data-race prevention.
• Experience with large-scale modular iOS applications, design systems or component libraries, and cross-module API design.
• Experience leading architecture and technical decisions while balancing delivery speed, maintainability, and long-term platform health.
• Experience improving engineering quality and developer productivity through CI/CD, testing strategy, build-time optimization, and reliable feedback loops.
• Clear spoken and written English is required.
