Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Almaty, Kazakhstan

What you will do

• Build AI creation workflows, Cinema Studio collaboration features, and community functionality such as sharing, discovery, contests, profiles, and follows.
• Own features and bugs through release and follow-up, define API contracts, and coordinate frontend delivery.
• Design responsive user experiences with live progress, timely updates, and reliable failure recovery.
• Diagnose and remove database and service bottlenecks under high traffic while improving correctness, latency, and reliability.
• Define success metrics, build dashboards and alerts, and monitor adoption and system health after launch.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in database modeling, indexes, query plans, partitioning, transactions, locking, and production performance diagnosis.
• Strong architecture judgment across service boundaries, APIs, asynchronous workflows, caching, and failure handling.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD, including design, testing, deployment, and debugging.
• Experience shipping and operating backend systems across multiple projects, including high-traffic workloads.
• Knowledge of API security, authentication, object-level authorization, tenant isolation, and protection against IDOR vulnerabilities.
• Experience with social networks or collaborative tools, plus ownership, direct feedback, and the ability to work through rapid priority changes and urgent production issues.

Nice to have

• Experience designing feeds, follow graphs, notifications, sharing permissions, real-time synchronization, or concurrent editing.
