Freelance Producer, Game Telecasts (Baseball)

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, United States; regular domestic travel and extended road trips with assigned clubs are required.

Pay range: $1,300–$1,800 per day.

What you will do

• Produce live MLB game coverage from the opening through the final out and postgame show.
• Lead editorial direction, storylines, replay angles, graphics content, rundowns, timing, and commercial elements.
• Coordinate with directors, on-air talent, club media staff, pregame and postgame producers, and Local Media leadership.
• Oversee venue and control-room production decisions, including replays, graphics, interviews, live integrations, and technical needs.
• Integrate Statcast and advanced data into broadcasts to improve storytelling and viewer understanding.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and provide feedback to production crews and talent while ensuring compliance with MLB, club, and network standards.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of live sports television production experience, including live game coverage.
• Deep knowledge of baseball rules, strategy, history, and analytics, with strong editorial judgment.
• Experience with replay producing, graphics execution, game timing, EVS, Vizrt or Chyron, and production truck or control-room operations.
• Ability to lead on-air talent and production crews in a pressurized live television environment.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Communications, Broadcast Journalism, or a related major is preferred.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, the full MLB season, regular domestic travel, and changing outdoor weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Adobe Premiere or other editing software.
