Senior Data Analyst (Companies/Ownership)

What you will do

• Own the quality, structure, and ongoing development of company, ownership, management, operator, corporate hierarchy, and vessel particulars datasets.
• Research and validate vessel data from multiple sources, identifying gaps, anomalies, and root causes of quality issues.
• Create SQL- and Python-based workflows for recurring data collection, cleansing, enrichment, and validation.
• Develop dashboards and reports to monitor vessel data quality and provide vessel-level insights.
• Support the integration of new data sources by scoping, testing, and validating incoming feeds.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Market Analysts, Data Analysts, and the Vessel Data Manager to improve platforms, pipelines, business rules, and data standards.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, data quality, or data operations.
• Practical experience with SQL for querying, cleansing, and analysing data.
• Demonstrable knowledge of vessel data, maritime shipping concepts, and the maritime industry.
• Experience working with large real-world datasets, particularly vessel particulars.
• Experience with data validation, monitoring, and quality-improvement techniques.
• Strong analytical, communication, ownership, prioritisation, and independent problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with data visualisation tools and dashboarding.
• Practical experience with ETL processes, web scraping, APIs, or data pipelines.
• Experience using Python for data analysis and automation.
• Familiarity with maritime data sources.
