The hirify.global is partnering with Protector Insurance on an ESRC IAA-funded research and industry project.

What you will do

• Develop explainable AI-powered decision models for insurance underwriting.
• Translate Evidential Reasoning theory and insurance domain knowledge into practical decision models.
• Apply probabilistic reasoning, decision modelling, data analytics, and evidence-based decision-making methods.
• Integrate the developed models into existing working practices at Protector Insurance.
• Work with university supervisors, researchers, and insurance practitioners.
• Explain technical methods and model outputs in a form that can be understood and used by business users.

Requirements

• Minimum 2:1 degree with doctoral research experience, or a PhD, in Systems Science, Decision Science, Operational Research, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Statistics with Decision, or a related field.
• Strong grounding in probabilistic data analysis and reasoning.
• Experience with explainable AI decision modelling, decision analysis, and multiple-criteria assessment.
• Software development experience in Python or an equivalent language.
• Ability to work from the Manchester-based university and insurance locations.
