Clinical Data Specialist (AI)

Location: Hybrid work from the Austin or Barcelona hubs

What you will do

• Lead high-fidelity annotation of clinical datasets, including trial protocols, Case Report Forms, and medical literature.
• Partner with AI and Engineering teams to provide human-in-the-loop clinical expertise for machine learning models.
• Apply clinical coding standards such as MedDRA, WHODrug, and SNOMED CT to support interoperability and regulatory compliance.
• Audit annotated data to maintain the ground-truth accuracy required for regulatory-grade AI outputs.
• Extract inclusion and exclusion criteria, endpoints, biomarkers, and other entities from unstructured clinical documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Health Informatics.
• At least 2 years of experience in clinical data management or clinical research, focused on data cleaning or medical coding.
• Experience with data labeling tools or a strong understanding of medical NLP concepts.
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial phases, protocol design, and FDA/EMA regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Exceptional attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with SDTM, USDM, or other clinical data standards.
• Experience with AI/ML model training or evaluation.
• Exposure to EHR data and real-world evidence workflows.
• Spanish or Portuguese language skills.
