Location: Sydney, Australia. Permanent full-time role working across a seven-day rota, including some weekend work. Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.

News produces journalism in text and video for audiences in the UK and around the world across its website and social platforms.
What you will do
- Produce accurate news stories, live pages, features, and digital video covering major UK and global events.
- Create social-first formats for planned and breaking news across major social platforms.
- Write fast-paced digital news and produce and edit short news video clips.
- Work with colleagues across News to develop accurate, engaging, platform-native content.
- Use audience insights, search data, social listening, platform trends, and performance data to improve storytelling and engagement.
- Apply editorial standards confidently to complex and fast-moving stories.
Requirements
- Experience covering UK and international news in text and video.
- Experience creating and publishing accurate breaking news for digital audiences.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Experience producing and editing short news video clips and understanding compelling social video.
- Knowledge of the differing requirements of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Right to work in Australia is required.
