Lead Platform Engineer (Flink)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global Singapore office in One-North, Singapore

What you will do

• Lead the design, evolution, and operation of the real-time stream processing platform based on Apache Flink.
• Build platform abstractions, modules, and libraries that simplify Flink adoption and reduce operational and security effort.
• Improve automation and self-service workflows for supporting production Flink pipelines at scale.
• Lead technical design discussions, production readiness reviews, incident learning, and long-term architecture improvements.
• Partner with Kafka, data lake, metrics, and data governance platform teams to improve reliability across the data ecosystem.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, debugging sessions, code reviews, and operational best practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of leading software engineering, data engineering, or platform engineering teams or projects.
• Production experience building and operating stream processing pipelines with Apache Flink or Spark Streaming.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and modern programming languages such as Scala or Java.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, scalable data processing, reliability engineering, and production operations.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, communicating trade-offs, and taking projects from design to production.
• Ability to work onsite at the Singapore office in One-North.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka Connect, Kubernetes, Go, GitLab CI, AWS, or Terraform.
• Experience building reusable platform abstractions, SDKs, deployment tooling, or self-service workflows.
• Experience operating Apache Flink in production, including high availability, checkpointing, safe deployments, and incident response.
• Experience with data warehouse or data lake technologies such as Spark, Parquet, Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi.
