TL;DR
Deputy Accounting Director (Finance AI): Leading day-to-day accounting operations and Procure-to-Pay across an international multi-entity environment with an accent on accounts payable, closing processes, controls, and process improvement. Focus on coordinating finance teams and external providers, testing automation and AI use cases, and ensuring data quality, confidentiality, traceability, and human oversight.
Location: Paris or Bordeaux, France; travel to Bordeaux required once per month

What you will do
- Lead the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process, including supplier setup, invoice processing, approvals, accounting, and payments.
- Coordinate the Accounts Payable team and monitor invoice workflows, purchase orders, blocked invoices, supplier balances, and payment runs.
- Support monthly and annual close activities, including cut-off entries, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and audit preparation.
- Coordinate with local accounting firms and external service providers across international entities.
- Identify and test automation and AI use cases for invoice processing, reconciliations, reporting, data quality, and operational support.
- Document processes, define controls and operating guidelines, and support adoption of new Finance tools and workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or accounting management.
- Previous experience as an Accounting Manager or Deputy Accounting Director.
- Experience in an international, multi-entity environment and with external accounting firms and subsidiaries.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, closing processes, cut-off, reconciliations, internal controls, ERP, and finance systems.
- Fluent English required; French is an advantage.
- Autonomous, hands-on, solution-oriented, organised, analytical, and communicative working style.

- Experience with Finance transformation, automation, and AI use cases.
