Focus on developing calibration methods, leading thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, and radiation testing, and resolving hardware issues with suppliers and engineering teams.

Location: On-site in Kent, Washington, United States

Salary: $170,000–$202,000 annually

Company

Develops modular, scalable satellites and space-based solar energy infrastructure for energy distribution, high-performance computing, and secure optical data transport.

What you will do

  • Own the navigation sensor suite across launch vehicles and spacecraft, including requirements definition and component selection.
  • Evaluate accelerometers, gyroscopes, IMUs, and GNSS receivers against performance, environmental, interface, cost, and availability requirements.
  • Lead electrical and mechanical sensor integration with avionics and vehicle teams, including GNSS antenna, RF compatibility, and interference coordination.
  • Develop characterization and calibration methods, quantify error sources, and provide performance models and calibration data to navigation software teams.
  • Plan and lead acceptance and qualification testing, including thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, and radiation testing.
  • Lead failure analysis, supplier issue resolution, manufacturing calibration processes, and hardware readiness for vehicle integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in navigation sensor hardware or avionics assembly design and integration.
  • Experience with IMU error sources, environmental sensitivities, calibration methods, and mitigation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience integrating accelerometers, gyroscopes, or IMUs into flight or other high-reliability systems.
  • Experience developing test setups, analyzing sensor data, and qualifying hardware against defined requirements.
  • Experience with ADCs, DACs, data acquisition systems, and sensors such as proximity, pressure, temperature, and strain-gage sensors.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience integrating GNSS receivers and working with navigation software or guidance, navigation, and control teams.
  • Experience qualifying hardware for both launch-vehicle and spacecraft environments or reusing components across platforms.
  • Experience developing custom inertial sensor assemblies or supporting accelerometer and gyroscope development.
  • Experience improving calibration, acceptance-test coverage, manufacturing yield, or production throughput.

Culture & Benefits

  • Equity in hirify.global Corp.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time off, and 10 paid holidays.
  • Paid parental leave and relocation assistance when applicable.
