Data Center Technician

Location: Buckeye, Arizona, United States; onsite full-time. Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 10:30 PM–9:00 AM ET, overnight shift.

What you will do

• Support overnight hardware operations in a live enterprise data center, working independently with escalation support available.
• Perform hardware break-fix work, including DIMM, disk, SFP/transceiver, cable, and power supply replacements.
• Execute scheduled changes such as power cycles, device decommissions, equipment unracking, server installations, and rack-and-stack activities.
• Manage ServiceNow change tasks, follow implementation plans, document work notes, and close tasks accurately.
• Respond to environmental and power alerts using PowerIQ and Sunbird, and troubleshoot physical infrastructure issues.
• Escort vendor field engineers, handle secure media, and prepare daily shift and change summaries for leadership.

Requirements

• Prior experience in enterprise data center operations, hardware maintenance, or infrastructure support.
• Hands-on experience with rack-and-stack activities, structured cabling, and hardware component replacement.
• Experience using ServiceNow or an equivalent IT service management platform to execute and document changes.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts and follow implementation plans, change management procedures, and operational processes.
• Ability to perform physical data center work, including lifting equipment, working on ladders, and spending extended periods on the data center floor.
• Must be available to work onsite full-time in Buckeye, Arizona, Wednesday through Sunday, during the designated overnight shift.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment and data center hardware.
• Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management tools, particularly Sunbird.
• Basic scripting knowledge.
• Experience with Change Advisory Board processes in a change-controlled environment.
