Avionics Operations Engineer

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary: $140,000–$205,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits for full-time hires.

What you will do

• Own value stream mapping, capacity planning, and production-floor layouts for electronic and optical hardware manufacturing.
• Build data-collection, dashboard, and visualization tools to track production KPIs, efficiency, and quality.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen methods to reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, and improve yield.
• Partner with avionics design and test teams to transition products from prototype development to full-scale production.
• Use ERP and MRP systems to improve manufacturing operations and resolve process bottlenecks.
• Support cleanroom standards, facility setup, automation initiatives, and new manufacturing-capability projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of operations or industrial engineering experience developing and improving manufacturing processes.
• Extensive experience with ERP and MES systems.
• Extensive experience creating dashboards and data-visualization systems for production tracking.
• Experience with Siemens NX and compliance with AS9100-related cleanliness and quality standards.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements under ITAR/EAR.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of operations experience in aerospace or another high-reliability industry.
• Experience manufacturing electronic or optical hardware.
• Previous startup experience.
