Senior Build Reliability Engineer (Aerospace Defense)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. This is an onsite role supporting design, manufacturing, inspection, testing, and production operations. Applicants must be authorized to access U.S. export-controlled information and meet applicable U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, refugee, asylee, or authorization requirements.

What you will do

• Integrate reliability, quality, manufacturability, and inspectability considerations across the product lifecycle.
• Review process plans, specifications, build documentation, design reviews, and engineering changes for accuracy, traceability, compliance, and quality objectives.
• Develop quality control processes, inspection methods, test validation approaches, manufacturing software workflows, and measurement solutions.
• Analyze reliability and quality data, identify trends, prioritize issues, and drive achievement of quality targets.
• Lead FMEA, statistical analysis, root cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions, containment, and nonconformance resolution.
• Support quality management system compliance, technician and inspector training, software adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in reliability engineering and/or quality engineering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
• Experience leading reliability assessments, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and quality improvement efforts.
• Knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, corrective action, metrology, PFMEA, control plans, and APQP.
• Ability to meet U.S. export-control and ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomous, production-focused environment and communicate effectively with regulators, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or government programs.
• Experience implementing or enhancing manufacturing enterprise software.
• Experience supporting high-volume production teams during production ramp-up.
• Experience applying Lean quality approaches without compromising safety or reliability.
