AI & Control Engineer – Perception and Navigation (Robotics)

Location: Paris, France; occasional remote work authorized. Travel to customer sites such as healthcare centers and factories is required.

What you will do

• Select vision and perception sensors for robotic applications.
• Review scientific literature and present relevant innovations and internally developed algorithms.
• Develop object detection, pose estimation, feature recognition, mapping, navigation, and control algorithms.
• Build autonomous navigation for humanoid robots and navigation assistance for exoskeletons.
• Test algorithms on real robots and in simulation, including visits to customer sites to correct issues in real-world conditions.
• Design automated tests, verification pipelines, and code-quality practices to prevent regressions.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or PhD in perception, navigation, machine learning, robotics, or a related field.
• Expert-level Python and C++ development skills.
• Expertise in computer vision, feature detection, mapping, SLAM, navigation, path planning, and path tracking.
• Experience with machine learning, robotics, kinematics, odometry, linear algebra, numerical optimization, and physical modeling.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, version control, continuous integration, automated testing, and modular development.
• Ability to perform experimental work, develop prototypes, analyze scientific literature, and explain algorithms and calculations clearly.
