Sr Process Engineer - Maintenance (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: On-site at a penicillin manufacturing facility in Rochester, Michigan, United States. Standard Monday–Friday daytime schedule with overtime, weekend, and off-shift work required as needed for manufacturing outages. Occasional national and international travel may be required.

Annual base salary: $82,700–$137,900, plus eligibility for a 10% performance bonus.

What you will do

• Plan, oversee, and improve preventive and corrective maintenance for equipment and facility systems.
• Review work orders and maintenance history, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support operator care and equipment improvements.
• Participate in RCFA, FMEA, GMP investigations, EHS investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Support maintenance projects, change controls, capital projects, equipment selection, specifications, and reliability plans.
• Manage maintenance contractors and vendors, including invoices, purchase orders, and service activities.
• Support facility maintenance, documentation, safety assessments, shutdown activities, and production outage response.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience; or master’s degree with 0+ years; or associate’s degree with 6 years; or high school diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with reliability-based maintenance practices.
• Computer and technical skills, accurate technical writing, problem-solving ability, and strong written and interpersonal communication.
• Must be able to work on site, in clean room conditions, and at a penicillin manufacturing facility; candidates must not be allergic to penicillin.
• Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• Ability to work weekends, off shifts, and extended hours during planned and unplanned production shutdowns.

Nice to have

• Pharmaceutical regulatory compliance and quality standards experience.
• Clean room or aseptic manufacturing experience and knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot for problem solving.
