Senior Accountant (Finance and Operations)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria, with hybrid working options. Applicants must hold a valid work or residence permit for Bulgaria.

Chaos is a global software company developing visualization and design solutions for architecture, design, media and entertainment, product e-commerce, and AI-related applications.

What you will do

• Own the full accounting cycle for Bulgarian, Macedonian, Czech, and other international entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP and group reporting requirements.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and statutory filings.
• Manage local treasury and payment cycles with the group finance team.
• Own global Accounts Payable process standards, harmonize workflows, close process gaps, and drive automation in NetSuite and connected finance tools.
• Support finance process improvements and international accounting projects.

Requirements

• Experience in financial accounting within an international corporate environment, ideally in technology, software, or SaaS.
• Experience with international group consolidations, IFRS, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing.
• Working knowledge of Bulgarian GAAP and hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP.
• Fluent English and fluent knowledge of Cyrillic are mandatory.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable field.
• Ability to work confidently across multicultural, multi-time-zone teams and improve finance processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with Czech statutory requirements and local GAAP.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or equivalent.
• Additional language skills.
