Network Software Engineer - Driver Firmware

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week in an HPE office in Bloomington, Minnesota, or Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, United States

Salary: USD 106,000–243,000 annual base salary in Minnesota and Wisconsin; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Develop driver functionality for switch and NIC data planes, including configuration, control, and monitoring of custom ASICs.
• Create APIs that interface with higher software layers.
• Design and implement high-performance, resilient, and scalable systems software.
• Influence network architecture and contribute to distributed, large-scale network fabric development.
• Write testing plans and documentation, debug integration issues, and deliver solutions across application architectures.
• Lead project teams and collaborate with internal and outsourced engineering partners on complex development projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Linux kernel programming.
• Expertise in network operating systems.
• Experience designing software systems for multiple platform types.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, test plans, debugging, and testing tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and architecture communication skills.
