Senior Staff Engineer - Unity Catalog Business Definitions Analyst

Location: Hybrid in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

What you will do

• Work with data stewards and domain owners to capture and certify business definitions.
• Map data assets across Finance, Commercial, HR, and Marketing, including tables, fields, and metrics.
• Facilitate definition workshops and recommend descriptions, owners, related terms, and calculation logic.
• Improve the existing Excel/Python-based intake process and identify opportunities to systemize it.
• Clean and validate inputs, upload approved definitions to Unity Catalog, and verify their accuracy and discoverability.
• Resolve cross-domain terminology conflicts and establish a governance process to keep definitions current.

Requirements

• Experience with data stewardship.
• Experience with Databricks and Databricks Data Governance.
• Experience with Unity Catalog.
• Ability to follow up with stakeholders, document processes, and coordinate work across business domains.
