Senior Manager, AI Engineering

Location: Pleasanton, California, or Seattle, Washington, United States; Flex work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $255,000–$383,000 for the primary location; $211,000–$383,000 for additional U.S. locations

What you will do

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing AI agent engineering team.
• Direct delivery of robust, scalable, and secure AI agents for HR and Finance applications.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with product managers, data scientists, architects, and principal engineers.
• Evaluate and integrate LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph.
• Collaborate with external vendors and open-source communities to adopt advanced AI technologies.
• Establish testing, monitoring, feedback, privacy, security, and compliance practices for reliable AI agents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering leadership experience focused on AI/ML and cloud-based systems.
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing mission-critical systems at scale.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, AI agents, RAG, and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise AI architectures, API integration, and large-scale automation.
• Strong hiring, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
