Senior Application Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Farmington, Connecticut, United States

Salary: $127,000–$172,000 per year; incentive eligible.

What you will do

• Guide application security strategy and secure the software development lifecycle.
• Configure and improve SAST, DAST, SCA, API, container, and other application security tools and integrations.
• Develop security strategies for cloud-native technologies, containers, serverless applications, APIs, and AI/ML systems.
• Embed AI-specific security checks covering input and output handling, AI-exposed APIs, prompt and response guardrails, abuse, and data-exfiltration paths.
• Support security incidents, threat events, vulnerability management, threat modeling, and secure architecture reviews.
• Define metrics, technical standards, documentation, training, and automation to improve application security coverage and developer adoption.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with significant hands-on application security experience.
• Experience reviewing AI-native products, internal agents, or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Strong experience deploying and operating DAST tools, including team onboarding, authentication setup, and CI/CD integration.
• Experience with AWS and Azure, application development and deployment processes, cloud, containers, serverless technologies, and pipelines.
• Knowledge of NIST, OWASP, and MITRE, plus experience developing security standards, assessment methodologies, and review processes.

• Relevant certifications in application development, security, application security, DevSecOps, or cloud.
