Application Security Architect

Location: Remote within the United States for candidates residing in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Hybrid work is available through offices in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. hirify.global cannot hire within the city limits of Chicago.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do

• Review system designs and source code for security and architectural risks with engineering teams.
• Lead threat modeling, secure design reviews, and architecture review sessions.
• Execute and improve AI-assisted workflows for product security.
• Guide security initiatives from proof of concept through operational maturity.
• Document security architectures, policies, and best practices, and present findings to technical and executive audiences.
• Mentor security team members and evolve the Security Champions program.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software security experience, including 2+ years in security architecture or offensive security.
• Proficiency in one or more of Java, Kotlin, or C++.
• Strong knowledge of authentication, authorization, cryptography, secure communications, and application security.
• Experience with OWASP, NIST, BSIMM, STRIDE, DREAD, OAuth 2.0, SAML, and OIDC.
• Knowledge of AWS security, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, Linux and Windows security, and security testing tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Visa sponsorship is not available.
