Math Instructional Coach, Early Childhood (EdTech)

Location: Based in Los Angeles, United States, with travel to schools and districts 30–50% of the time

Base salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year; target total compensation of approximately $130,000 including performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Support early childhood teachers in moving beyond rote counting and memorization toward meaningful, developmentally appropriate mathematics instruction.
• Design and deliver personalized professional development journeys for schools, teachers, and implementation stages.
• Coach teachers in real classrooms through observations, live modeling, feedback cycles, and hands-on workshops.
• Help educators develop children's number sense, quantity understanding, counting, pattern recognition, spatial reasoning, and early problem-solving skills.
• Build trusted relationships with teachers, school leaders, and district administrators while developing a regional community of early childhood math educators.
• Travel to schools and districts to support implementation, coaching, and professional development.

Requirements

• Background as an early childhood, preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, or early elementary educator, with a strong foundation in mathematics education.
• Understanding of how children ages 3–6 develop mathematical thinking through play, exploration, manipulatives, and classroom interactions.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, supporting educators, leading professional development, or modeling lessons.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and the ability to connect research with classroom instruction.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with teachers, school leaders, and district administrators.
• Must be based in Los Angeles and willing to travel 30–50% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching mathematics to children ages 3–6.
• Experience leading professional development, modeling lessons, or facilitating teacher learning.
• Entrepreneurial experience building programs or processes from scratch.
