TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (SQL, dbt) (Data Engineering/EdTech): Building reliable, scalable data pipelines, ELT processes, and integrated web applications for an education technology platform with an accent on SQL, dbt transformations, infrastructure as code, and full-stack collaboration. Focus on optimizing data quality, troubleshooting production systems, managing Terraform infrastructure, and handling primary and backup on-call rotations.
Location: Brazil or Colombia; in-office, hybrid, or remote flexibility is available. Collaboration with colleagues operating in the US Mountain Time zone is required.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines and ELT processes using SQL and dbt.
- Build and optimize data transformations while ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
- Manage infrastructure with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Develop and support web applications and services using Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and React.
- Collaborate with data, product, and engineering teams on integrated data and application solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve pipelines, applications, and infrastructure; participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with data engineering and ELT processes, including advanced SQL and dbt.
- Practical experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Proven experience developing web applications with Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and React across backend and frontend components.
- Strong problem-solving and production troubleshooting skills focused on reliability and maintainability.
- Availability to work with distributed teams operating in the US Mountain Time zone.
- Availability for the on-call rotation: one primary week and one backup week in each four-week cycle.

- Experience with Snowflake and AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with Apache Airflow, Looker, and Python.
- Experience with GitHub workflows, pull requests, and collaborative code reviews.
