Python Team Lead (Integrations)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; remote workplace

What you will do

• Lead a team of at least three engineers within the Integration team.
• Own backend features and improvements from design and implementation through deployment and production support.
• Design and maintain scalable, high-performance services using Python and Django.
• Build and maintain integrations with KYC providers, geolocation services, payment partners, and other third-party systems.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, unit tests, and integration tests for reliable integration flows.
• Support production incidents and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Experience leading and managing a team of at least three engineers.
• At least five years of development experience, with Python as the primary language and strong API and system integration experience.
• Deep understanding of third-party APIs, webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure handling.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing highly loaded and scalable architectures.
• Experience with observability tools for monitoring and troubleshooting production integrations.

• Experience with payments and KYC integrations.
• Experience in early-stage startups and fast-paced engineering environments.
• Experience defining test automation strategies and measuring test coverage.
• Experience with Datadog, CloudWatch, or Grafana.
• Experience in sports or betting industries.
