Senior Shipment Planner (m/d/f) (Ocean Freight)

Location: Maia (Gueifães), Portugal; remote work is available at more than 50%, with a hybrid work system.

What you will do

• Plan ocean transports for national and international projects while balancing schedules, costs, cargo volumes, and operational requirements.
• Consolidate project requirements and coordinate shipment volumes, material availability, delivery strategies, and destination ports.
• Review network plan requirements and dates in SAP SCM, monitor schedule changes, and update shipment planning.
• Visualize shipment data using common software solutions such as Power BI.
• Notify Global Procurement or Chartering about vessel requirements and prepare packing lists for operational execution.
• Support process streamlining, data-quality improvements, and standardization around a single source of truth.

Requirements

• Completed commercial vocational training, a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in transport logistics, project logistics, ocean freight, or a comparable coordination role.
• Experience managing or coordinating logistics projects, including schedules, interfaces, and dependencies.
• Structured understanding of operational logistics processes, schedules, volumes, risks, and project dependencies.
• Proficiency in MS Office; SAP SCM, SAP R3, and Power BI knowledge is advantageous.
• Good written and spoken German and English are required.
