Data Engineer (Databricks)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support data products built on the data lake and analytics systems.
• Participate in discovery workshops and work with product owners and client engineering, product, and analytics teams.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Big Data technologies, Databricks, and related infrastructure.
• Manage complex datasets, workflow scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and system availability.
• Develop analytical solutions using Databricks SQL Analytics and PowerBI.
• Respond to incidents, manage changes and problems, and participate in a 24/7 on-call roster as required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ideally in payments.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks, data lakes, data warehousing, and Databricks tuning.
• Experience with Python or another programming language, Oracle and/or SQL databases, and SQL development.
• Experience with scripting and Infrastructure as Code, such as PowerShell and Terraform.
• Knowledge of secure development, software delivery lifecycle, project delivery, and ITIL practices.
• Experience in financial services or payments and PCI-DSS-compliant environments is valuable.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks SQL Analytics and/or PowerBI.
• Experience working in payments or other financial services environments.
