Senior Routine Maintenance Planner - Mechanical

Location: Carson, California, United States; additional location in Wilmington, California. Onsite refinery work with field activities, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, plus after-hours support during maintenance events and equipment outages.

Salary: $106,900–$184,300 annually.

What you will do

• Convert SAP notifications into maintenance work orders and develop detailed mechanical job plans.
• Plan routine maintenance, equipment outages, and planned maintenance events for refinery mechanical equipment and supporting systems.
• Prepare work packages with work instructions, safety requirements, drawings, P&IDs, materials, isolation details, lifting requirements, and permit requirements.
• Perform field assessments and provide field support during execution, resolving work-package issues and coordinating emergent needs.
• Coordinate repair plans with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Inspection, equipment specialists, refinery personnel, and contractors.
• Track planning status, resources, materials, and deviations while implementing safety, quality, efficiency, and cost improvements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED plus at least 5 years of relevant mechanical maintenance or maintenance planning experience, or a related Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 5 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Experience with industrial mechanical equipment and the ability to read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment drawings, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to wear refinery PPE, including a respirator, perform required field activities, pass a hair drug test and physical, and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without future visa sponsorship.
• Must be able to work the stated schedule and provide after-hours or extended-hours support when required. Travel is 5% or less.

Nice to have

• Previous maintenance planning, SAP maintenance, refinery, petrochemical, or cogeneration maintenance experience.
• Experience with rotating and fixed equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, valves, and piping systems.
• Experience with equipment outages, major maintenance events, turnaround activities, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, contracted services, or maintenance leadership.
