Engineering Group Manager - Electrification

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan, United States; expected to report to the specified location at least 3 times per week.

What you will do

• Manage the Requirements and Controls Design team responsible for defining TRP solution requirements and developing controls for diagnosing internal battery hardware failures that may lead to thermal runaway.
• Lead, coach, hire, and develop engineers while supporting performance management, career growth, and technical skill development.
• Enable self-organizing teams to deliver high-quality products on time in an agile environment and apply requirements and controls best practices.
• Drive data application, agile practices, process improvements, and resolution of product quality issues to support launch quality.
• Manage budgets and resource planning, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to the organization’s vision and roadmap.
• Build relationships with internal teams and external partner organizations to align tactical and strategic plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, including Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
• At least 7 years of engineering experience related to embedded control systems, data analytics, related hardware, and/or safety-critical system development.
• Technical experience in electrification within an embedded controls or software development environment.
• Demonstrated successful project execution and working knowledge of software development and delivery processes, with a focus on requirements and controls design.
• Excellent multifunctional communication and leadership skills, including the ability to align multiple teams and represent the organization in high-level forums.
• Prior experience in people leadership.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Engineering and/or Master of Business Administration.
• Leadership experience with teams developing embedded control systems.
• Working knowledge of HV RESS systems and their failure modes.
• Leadership experience in embedded-systems safety compliance.
• Experience working in an Agile development framework.
• Experience applying a systems-engineering approach to product quality.
