Senior Principal Platform Lead (AI & Agentic Systems): Building and owning IFS’s Internal Developer Platform and developer experience across enterprise product teams with an accent on self-service scaffolding, golden paths, platform adoption, and production AI systems. Focus on designing Kubernetes-based infrastructure, integrating authentication and CI/CD workflows, measuring developer experience, and driving platform strategy across a distributed engineering organisation.

What you will do
- Own the vision, roadmap, and end-to-end execution of the Internal Developer Platform.
- Build service catalogues, self-service scaffolding, golden paths, CI/CD integrations, and developer portals.
- Own the developer experience for the Nexus platform from service creation through production observability.
- Partner with product, IAM, infrastructure, SRE, and engineering teams to deliver secure and reliable platform experiences.
- Drive adoption through onboarding metrics, self-service completion, platform NPS, time-to-first-deployment, and DORA metrics.
- Mentor senior platform engineers and influence platform architecture and strategy without direct management responsibility.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling engineering, including at least 3 years in a senior, staff, individual-contributor, or technical-lead role.
- Hands-on experience owning an Internal Developer Platform or developer portal such as Backstage, Port, Cortex, or an equivalent system.
- Production experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Crossplane, CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, and observability.
- Experience shipping golden paths, service templates, and CI/CD standardisation at enterprise scale.
- Experience with Go, React or Next.js, Kafka or Redpanda, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes on AKS.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping production AI applications, including LLMs or agentic AI systems.
