Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Product Security)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite. Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for government facilities and sensitive information and able to obtain additional security clearances as required.

Salary: $135,000–$200,000 annual base compensation, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design secure software and hardware architectures for mission-critical sensor platforms and supporting infrastructure.
• Integrate security requirements throughout the software development lifecycle and establish secure engineering standards.
• Lead threat modeling and cybersecurity risk assessments across software, embedded, cloud, hardware, and operational environments.
• Develop mitigation strategies and coordinate vulnerability remediation, secure configuration, hardening, and security validation.
• Support RMF, ATO, export control, regulated data handling, security documentation, audits, and accreditation activities.
• Collaborate with Software, Embedded, Hardware, DevOps, Infrastructure, Security Operations, government, and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, product security, application security, or related engineering roles.
• Experience with secure software design, secure system architecture, threat modeling, and cybersecurity risk assessments.
• Knowledge of SSDLC practices and application security concepts.
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, CMMC, DFARS, ATO processes, security documentation, and eMASS.
• Understanding of cloud, endpoint, network, and identity security concepts, along with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for government facilities and sensitive information are required.

Nice to have

• Active security clearance and experience in defense, aerospace, government contracting, or regulated technology environments.
• Experience securing embedded systems, sensor platforms, edge computing technologies, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, or hardware security.
• Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, TPM, secure boot, cryptographic hardware, supply chain security, or regulated cloud architectures.
• Experience with secure DevSecOps pipelines, Microsoft GCC High, Python, PowerShell, Bash, or relevant security certifications.
