Infrastructure Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, CA; Austin, TX; New York, NY; or Seattle, WA. Candidates must be located in the SF Bay Area, Austin, New York, Palo Alto, or Seattle, or willing to relocate to a US office.

Base salary: $100,000–$258,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and secure bare-metal and private-cloud foundations across servers, storage, firmware, operating systems, and hardware lifecycle management.
• Build secure network and identity foundations, including segmentation, firewalls, DNS, PKI, NAC, IDS/IPS, hybrid connectivity, Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, and cloud IAM.
• Develop secure Kubernetes and container standards on bare metal and private cloud, including RBAC, network policies, secrets, and platform hardening.
• Maintain infrastructure as code and configuration management with Puppet, Terraform, Python, Bash, and Golang.
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, maintain code and image scanning, and operate SIEM telemetry pipelines across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Respond to infrastructure security events, develop monitoring and alerting, conduct assessments, and own security projects from identification through implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with 3–5 years of hands-on infrastructure or platform security experience.
• Experience securing bare-metal, data-center, colo, or private-cloud environments; cloud-only experience is insufficient.
• Hands-on experience with firmware, BMC/iDRAC/iLO, PXE/Kickstart provisioning, hardware lifecycle security, firewalls, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity.
• Strong production experience with Puppet, infrastructure as code such as Terraform, hybrid identity, and Kubernetes security on on-premises or bare-metal clusters.
• Experience developing automation and security tooling with Python, Bash, or Golang, plus familiarity with GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, or NIST CSF.
• Must be located in the listed US areas or willing to relocate to a US office. Experience with banking, money transmission, P2P payments, or similarly regulated financial platforms is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with VMware, OpenStack, Proxmox, Nutanix, multi-cloud security, and cloud-to-on-premises environments.
• Security certifications such as CCSP, CSSK, OSCP, or network and cloud security specialties.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Karma, Wazuh, or custom security integrations.
• Experience securing AI/ML and GPU workloads on bare metal or hybrid infrastructure, or contributing to open-source infrastructure and security projects.
