Lead Java Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based at the St. Petersburg, Florida corporate office, with in-office work three days per week. The position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship now or in the future.

What you will do

• Develop and manage core services and APIs supporting critical financial and wealth management applications.
• Analyze complex requirements and design interfaces, components, and distributed services.
• Lead projects across cross-functional teams, coordinating tasks, progress, and delivery.
• Design, develop, test, validate, deploy, document, and support production applications.
• Apply AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and Amazon Bedrock across the software development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, root-cause analysis, and solutions for complex programming and design challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five to eight years of professional software engineering or application development experience, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade distributed applications and services.
• Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, RESTful APIs, SOAP services, microservices, and Angular.
• Experience with Python and scripting for automation, AI-assisted workflows, code generation, testing, documentation, and modernization.
• Knowledge of software architecture, data structures, algorithms, SQL/NoSQL, testing frameworks, CI/CD, DevOps, reliability, scalability, and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts and implementation.
• Certification in machine learning, Python, or AI technologies.
