Manager I, Manufacturing (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; onsite manufacturing role. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Estimated base salary: $112,000–$154,500 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Direct daily manufacturing operations within the Penicillin building, including staffing, budgets, costs, labor efficiency, scrap, volume, and operational KPIs.
• Evaluate and implement manufacturing process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives such as 6S, visual management, and kaizen.
• Hire, coach, develop, motivate, and manage the performance of direct reports.
• Ensure compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, environmental health and safety requirements, and other regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with quality, engineering, R&D, maintenance, scheduling, support functions, managers, customers, and senior leaders.
• Prepare the annual operating budget, control expenses, support audits, and formulate short- and long-range plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing or operations experience, including a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, and operations.
• Leadership, interpersonal, prioritization, troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze scientific and statistical data, prepare technical reports, present information to groups and senior leaders, and support regulatory inspections and audits.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise software; experience developing and managing an annual operating budget.
