Underwriter Facultative Property (Reinsurance): Evaluating, underwriting, and originating facultative property business across Western and Southern European markets with an accent on complex commercial and industrial risks, portfolio steering, and client relationships. Focus on applying state-of-the-art modelling tools, assessing fire and natural catastrophe exposures, and developing tailored reinsurance solutions.
Location: Zurich, Switzerland; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week
Base salary: CHF 100,000–150,000 per year for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do
- Evaluate and underwrite facultative property risks across Western and Southern European markets.
- Originate new business and contribute to portfolio growth and profitability.
- Assess fire, natural catastrophe, commercial, and industrial property risks using analytical and modelling tools.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and brokers.
- Support portfolio steering, performance monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with account managers, client managers, market underwriters, and treaty underwriters to develop tailored solutions.
Requirements
- Experience underwriting commercial and industrial property risks, including the ability to assess and price complex risks.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- A completed Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree, preferably in Economics, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Copilot.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in an international environment.
Nice to have
- French, Spanish, or Italian language skills.
- Experience with Power BI and generative AI tools.
- Experience developing creative solutions for complex underwriting challenges.
