Manufacturing Intern-1 (Aerospace)

Location: Montgomery, Texas; on-site shop-floor work required

What you will do

• Support safe, efficient, productive, and economical manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot daily production issues, investigate root causes, address Andon stoppages, and develop countermeasures using 5 Why methodology.
• Develop and maintain routings, tool lists, fixtures, process requirements, work instructions, and standard work.
• Design and implement tooling, fixture, process, equipment-layout, and material-flow improvements.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives, including value-stream mapping, waste reduction, and cycle-time reduction.
• Support process and product development, operator training, tooling procurement, and capital-equipment implementation.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Engineering or a related degree.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing shop-floor environment.
• Ability to understand process and product specifications.

Nice to have

• Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S practices.
• Proficiency with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
• Basic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.
